Injury Accident On Old Mayfield Rd.

On 10/04/09, at approximately 06:56, Deputies were dispatched to an accident with injuries on Old Mayfield Road. 19 year Old Kimberly Lambert of Paducah was making a left turn Northbound onto Old Mayfield Road and stated that she failed to wait until the windows in her 1987 Pontiac Grand Am had defrosted before pulling onto Old Mayfield Road. 23 year old Sarah Smith of Boaz KY, traveling Southbound In a 1993 Honda Civic on Old Mayfield Road was unable to avoid collision as Ms. Lambert pulled out in front of her and struck Ms. Lambert's vehicle, causing Mrs. Lambert's vehicle to overturn. Ms. Smith was transported to Lourdes Hospital by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service, with complaints of pain to her neck. No additional injuries were reported. Both parties were wearing a seat belt. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Mercy regional Ambulance Service, Hendron Fire Department, and Meadows Towing.
