From: Det. Sgt. Jesse Riddle

On 10-29-2009 at approximately 6:47 pm detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department arrested three men charging them with multiple drug offenses.

Sheriff's Detectives began an investigation after receiving complaints alleging that Luis S. Rodriguez 19, of Park Avenue was trafficking in marijuana. The investigation involved undercover marijuana purchases from Luis Rodriquez at the Park Avenue home.

On 10-29-2009 at approximately 6:47 pm detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at 2617 Park Avenue in Paducah. Detectives located Luis S. Rodriquez 19, of Park Avenue and Wesley L. Andrews 19, of Wadesboro Road in a detached garage behind the residence. Detectives also noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana inside the garage. Detectives located Luis E. Rodriguez 47, also of Park Avenue inside the bathroom of the residence. Detectives conducted a search of the residence and seized in excess of two pounds of processed Mexican marijuana packaged for sell, baggies, digital scales, $6,800 in US currency believed to be proceeds of illegal marijuana sells and a loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun.

The investigation revealed that Luis E. Rodriguez 19, of Park Avenue had been selling marijuana for the past approximate year. Rodriguez's father Luis S. Rodriguez 47, also of Park Avenue would assist him by selling marijuana out of the residence under his son's direction.

Some of Rodriguez's charges were enhanced due to the fact that his residence was within 1000 yards of a McNabb Elementary and that his Marijuana was in close proximity to a firearm.

The investigation is continuing
