Subject:

Paducah Man Takes Advantage Of Test Drive

Date:

November 3, 2009

The Sheriff's Department received a call to the Lone Oak branch of the Paducah Federal Credit Union after employees arrived and it was determined that a  Silver 2002 Chevrolet Impala had been stolen from the parking lot.

Upon arrival, Deputy Malcolm Couch received information that the car was test driven yesterday (November 2, 2009) by a Gregory L. Clark.  Mr. Clark returned the vehicle along with the key.  The representative of the Credit Union stated that there were two keys to the car, but now they could only account for one of them.  Mr. Clark was the last person to drive the vehicle before the close of business on Monday.  The car was parked in the front parking lot of the Credit Union, but could not be found this morning.

The Credit Union provided the address to Deputy Couch that Gregory Clark gave them prior to test driving the car.  Deputy Couch drove to this address that was approximately 1/2 mile away from the Credit Union and located it backed into a parking space in front of Mr. Clark's apartment.  The license plate that was on the vehicle and that is registered to the Paducah Federal Credit Union had been removed.  Mr. Clark informed Deputies that it was in the top of his bedroom closet and was located there by Deputies.  An expired license plate registered to Gregory Clark (for a SILVER DODGE PICKUP TRUCK) had been placed on the car by Gregory Clark.  A registration decal sticker that expires in 2010 had been placed on the license plate.  The sticker was for another license plate that belongs to another individual and belongs on a BLACK Ford four door.  The owner of the license plate was contacted and was made aware that his decal had been removed and that it had been recovered.

Gregory Clark was arrested and was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. The passenger car was recovered and released to back to the Paducah Federal Credit Union.
