On November 6, 2009 detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division initiated an investigation after receiving a tip alleging that Mary Buckingham and Patricia Holmes were involved in selling crack cocaine in an alleyway off of North 13th Street.
At approximately 1230 hrs on the same date detectives utilized an undercover agent to purchase a quantity of crack cocaine from both Buckingham and Holmes in alleyway between N. 12th St and N. 13th St in Paducah, McCracken County. The investigation revealed that Patricia Holmes took control of the money from the crack purchase after Buckingham sold the crack cocaine. At approx. 1234 hrs detectives approached both subjects in the alleyway. Mary Buckingham attempted to flee on foot from deputies after deputies identified themselves in the alley way. Buckingham was chased on foot for approximately 100 yards before being subdued by Deputy Ryan Norman. A search of Buckingham's person revealed a quantity of marijuana and US currency that is believed to be proceeds of drug sales at the time of her arrest. Patricia Holmes was arrested without incident. A search of Holmes's person revealed a crack cocaine smoking pipe inside her pants. Holmes has prior convictions for Poss. of Cont.
