Vehicle collision sends father and daughter to area hospital |

Deputies were dispatched for an injury accident at the intersection of Berger Road and Oaks Street at approximately 5:36 tonight. Upon arrival deputies found that Mr. Brent Ballard ,33 of Paducah and his daughter, Brittany Ballard, 16 also of Paducah, had been traveling eastbound on Berger Road in Mr. Ballard's 2003 Ford F-150. As Mr. Ballard approached Oaks Street a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Mr. Donald Woodyard, 74 of Paducah, began to make a right hand turn onto Berger Road from Oaks Street. Mr. Woodyard's struck the passenger side of Mr. Ballard's vehicle causing him to loose control and leave the roadway. When Mr. Ballard's vehicle left the roadway he struck a driveway culvert causing his vehicle to turn over onto it's roof. Both Mr. Ballard and his daughter Brittany were transported to Western Baptist Hospital by Mercy Regional EMS for injuries sustained in the collision. Mr. Woodyard was uninjured in the collision. The Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Hendron Fire Department. Berger Road was restricted to 1 lane for approximately 35 minutes and temporarily closed for approximately 30 minutes.
