Subject:

Date:

November 18, 2009

On November 18, 2009 McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives arrested Robert E. Grady Jr. 30, of Broadway charging him with two counts of cocaine trafficking and other drug related offenses.

The investigation began after Sheriff's Detectives received complaints of drug trafficking occurring at the Deluxe Inn on Broadway in Paducah.  Detectives identified Robert E. Grady Jr. 30, who was residing in one of the hotel rooms as a cocaine trafficker. Over the past week a Sheriff's Detective acting in the undercover capacity was able to make cocaine purchases from Grady at the Deluxe Inn.

Detectives later obtained a search warrant for Grady's hotel room. On 11-18-2009 at approximately 9:26 pm The McCracken County Sheriff's Department's Special Service Team executed a search warrant at Room 219 of the Deluxe Inn. Detectives located Grady, his girlfriend Dakissa C. Sherley and nine year old child inside the room.  During a search of the room detectives seized marijuana, marijuana smoking pipes, digital scales with cocaine residue, plastic baggies and an undisclosed amount of US currency.

The investigation revealed that Grady had been selling approximately $600 worth of cocaine a day for the past two months. Detectives learned that Grady and Sherley had just smoked marijuana in the hotel room prior to the execution of the search warrant while the child was present.

The nine year old child was released to a family member.

Deputy Steve Croft and his K-9 Pepo assisted in the search for narcotics.

Detectives were also assisted by the Paducah Police Department, the Ballard County Sheriff's Department, the McCracken County Jail and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service in this investigation.
