Theft From Our Elderly Just Before Christmas

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department is investigating a theft from the residence of a 97 year old female that just recently suffered a stroke.  A person was hired to assist the victim with every day living that most people take for granted. While in the home this person took a blank check without the victims knowledge and later cashed it for $150.00.  She also took several pieces of jewelry from this lady. Non replaceable items such as her 1939 class ring, her deceased husband's wedding band and several other items total value of $1,325.00.

The investigation has led to a warrant being issued for 30 year old Nancey Gail Ali of McCracken County. Anyone that has information as to the location of Ali is encouraged to contact The McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 270-444-4719. 

**UPDATE** 12-18-2009

After the details were released to the media, Ali turned herself in to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department. She was arrested after an interview regarding the incident. Several calls were placed to The Sheriff's Department from citizens as to where Ali was staying. Thanks to the pressure from the media Ali decided to do the right thing and turn herself in.
