Wanted Illinois Man Arrested on Drug Charges

McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives arrested Justin S. Evans 25, of Metropolis Il on January 4th, 2010 at approximately 7:30 pm charging him with one count of Trafficking in Marijuana eight ounces to five pounds. Evans was also charged with  one count of criminal mischief out of Massac County Illinois after detectives learned that he had an outstanding warrant for the offense.   
 
Detectives and Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Chrysler driven by Evans near the intersection of Olivet Church and Commerce Roads after he sold a confidential source one pound of compressed marijuana on the parking lot of a Paducah business. Evans was arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed an undisclosed amount of US currency believed to be proceeds of Evans's drug sales.
 
Detectives then conducted a search of an apartment were Evans had been allegedly selling marijuana from located at 3417 Roell Circle in Paducah. A search of the apartment revealed plastic baggies, digital scales and more US currency, believed to be proceeds from Evans's drug sales.
 
Evans admitted during an interview with Sheriff's Detectives that he had not had a job since he was released from prison in May. Evans is currently out on parole out of Massac County on drug offenses. More charges are likely in the near future.
 
Arrested: Justin S. Evans 25, of Metropolis
 
 
Charges: Trafficking in Marijuana eight ounces to five pounds 1st offense (A class "D" felony punishable by up to 1-5 years in prison)
 
One Count of Criminal Mischief stemming from a Massac County arrest warrant.
 
Evans was lodged in the McCracken County Jail
