Theft from Veterinarian Clinic Leads to Two Arrests

McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives arrested Julia E. Thomas 50, of Olivet Church Road at approximately 4:22 pm on January 6th, 2010 charging her with various drug charges. Later that evening at approximately 6:15 pm detectives arrested Dannette O. Foulks charging her with one count of theft of a controlled substance.
 
On Janurary 5th, 2010 McCracken County Sheriff's Deputy Devant Ramage was called to 2625 Olivet Church Road to the Animal Care Clinic to investigate a theft. Upon his arrival Deputy Ramage was informed by an employee at the Animal Care Clinic that they had several doses (177) of Butorphanol Tartrate that were  unaccounted for. The staff member stated that they suspected that the controlled substance was stolen by another employee. Doctors or Veterinarians are required by law to report thefts of controlled substances.
 
On January 6th, 2010 McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and located Julia Thomas- Ficken at 2625 Olivet Church Road (an employee of the Animal Care Center). Detectives conducted a search of her Chevy Lumina. During the search of the vehicle detectives seized a Cocaine smoking pipe that contained Cocaine residue and other assorted items of drug paraphernalia. A search of Thomas-Ficken's person revealed several doses of Trazadone. Thomas-Ficken admitted that she did not have a prescription for the Trazadone.
 
At approximately 5:30 pm detectives located Dannette Foulks at her residence on Pace Drive in Paducah. Detectives conducted an interview with Foulks. Foulks was arrested and transported the McCracken County Jail after detectives determined that Foulks was responsible for the theft.
 
Butorphanol Tartrate is a Schedule IV narcotic analgesic that is primarily used for treatment of pain in animals.

Charges: Possession of Cocaine (A class "D" felony punishable by up to 1-5 years in prison), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug- Trazadone
 
Arrested: Dannette O. Foulks 44, of Pace Drive in Paducah
 
Charges: Theft of a Controlled Substance-Torbutrol Butorphanol Tartrate(A class "D" felony punishable by up to 1-5 years in prison)
