Paducah Man Arrested On Auto Theft Charges

  Officers responded to 1246 Vasseur Ave. for a vehicle theft in progress. Upon arrival investigation showed that Martin Cornwell 58 of Paducah took a 2002 Ford Explorer that was running with the keys in it outside victims residence. Victim Jason King 36 of Paducah stated that they had started the vehicle so it could warm up due the the extreme cold temperatures. When victim looked out the vehicle was gone. Victim ran outside and saw the vehicle exiting the trailer park slowly. Victim ran jumped in back seat through the vehicle in park and pulled keys out. Victim then ran from side to side of vehicle keeping Mr. Cornwell trapped in vehicle until officer arrived. Mr. Cornwell was extremely intoxicated he was arrested and transported to McCracken Regional Jail. Vehicle was returned to victim with out any damage.

Arrested: Martin E Cornwell 58 of Clarks River Rd Paducah KY.

Charges: Theft By Unlawful Taking Auto

DUI 4th Offence

Driving on DUI Suspended License.
