At approximately 18:56 pm the McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 3300 block of Olivet Church road. 17year old Derek Flannigan of Cypress Ill. was driving northbound when he said his 1990 Ford Ranger swerved to the right all of a sudden causing him to loose control run off the roadway and strike a driveway culvert. The impact caused his vehicle to flip onto its side. Flannigan and his passenger 16 year old Gabrielle Board also from Ill. were able to climb out of the vehicle with the help of bystanders. Both were transported by ambulance to Lourdes hospital to be checked out because they were minors. The roadway was blocked approximately 1 hour. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. It should be noted that there is very little shoulder on that portion of Olivet Church road. The sheriff's department was assisted by the Concord fire dept. |
