Date:

02-23-2010

At approx 1825hrs McCracken County Sheriff Deputies, Concord Fire Dept., and Mercy regional Ambulance were dispatched to a two vehicle collision with injuries on US 60 West.

18 year old, Dakota Rae, and a 16 year old passenger Joezi Ballard, both of Paducah were Westbound on US 60 in a Gray 2003 Buick Century, following a Gray 1998 Ford Taurus driven by 43 year old Robert Bowers. Mr. Bowers had to brake quickly to avoid an unidentified red vehicle which had stopped across both Westbound lanes of US 60. Ms. Rae was not able to get her vehicle stopped and collided with the rear of Mr. Bowers vehicle.
A third vehicle was able to swerve to the shoulder and avoid hitting the red vehicle whose driver fled the scene just after the collision. No information was available on the red vehicle.

Mr. Bower was transported by Mercy Regional Ambulance to Lourdes ER and Ms. Ballard was transported to Baptist ER. Both for treatment of non life threatening injuries while Ms. Rae reported she had no injuries.

US 60 was reduced to one lane for approx. 45 minutes while wrecker crews cleared the roadway.
