The
McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division arrested George
W. Walker 34, of Husbands Road today on multiple drug and gun
related offenses.
During
the month of February 2010 McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives
conducted an investigation that consisted of making multiple
Marijuana purchases from George Walker at his residence located at
919 Husbands Road in Paducah. This particular residence is
within 1000 yards of Farley Elementary School.
On
02-21-2010 McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives executed a search
warrant at the Husband Road residence. A search of the residence
revealed additional marijuana packaged for sale, scales, baggies, a
loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun and an undisclosed amount of US
currency believed to be proceeds from Marijuana sales.
A check
of Walker's criminal history revealed that he was a convicted felon
from other offenses committed in McCracken County in 2003
making it a felony for him to possess a firearm.
Walker
was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail today.

Charges:
Three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance-Marijuana
within 1000 yards of a school (A class "D" felony
punishable by 1-5 years in prison on each count), possession of drug
paraphernalia ( A class "A" misdemeanor punishable by up
to one year in prison) and possession of handgun by a convicted
felon (A class "C" felony punishable by 5-10 years in
prison)
