Two separate Motor Vehicle Accidents on Oaks Road send two to area hospitals

At approx 0252 hrs McCracken County Sheriff Deputies, Reidland Farley Fire Dept., and Mercy Regional Ambulance were dispatched to a single vehicle collision with injuries in the 1300 block Oaks Road.
 
3 minutes later a second vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of Oaks Rd. at the intersection of Oaks and Burkhart Ln.
 
Both collisions were: Single Vehicle, Single occupant, Vehicles Overturned, Alcohol Related, Both Drivers charged with DUI at local hospitals. 
 
1st Collision was a Red 2005 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 33 year old Michael Egner of Paducah. Mr. Egner was South on Oaks Road, crossed over the on coming lane, traveled along the Northbound ditch and overturned. Mr. Egner was transported to Baptist ER, treated and released for non life threatening injuries before being arrested for DUI 1st Offense and lodged in the McCracken County Jail. 
 
2nd Collision was a White 1993 Toyota Camry also traveling South on Oaks Road, driven by 54 year old Bob Miller of Paducah. Mr. Miller failed to negotiate the 90 degree left turn on Oaks Road at Burkhart Lane. Mr. Millers vehicle skidded off the right shoulder of Oaks Road, traveled along the ditch of Burkhart Lane, struck a tree and overturned. Mr. Miller had to be extricated from the vehicle by Reidland Farley Fire Dept. and was then transported to Lourdes ER. Mr. Miller was cited and released due to medical treatment for DUI 2nd Offense.
 
Oaks Road was blocked for approx 30 minutes at both locations while emergency personel treated the drivers and wrecker crews righted and removed the vehicles.
