Single Vehicle Collision Sends Symsonia Woman to Hospital and Charged with DUI 1st

    At 23:30 hours, the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept. responded to Benton Road and Beckham Street to a single vehicle collision with injuries. The driver 25 year old Cresentia Egner of Symsonia, KY was driving her 1993 Ford Explorer East on Benton Road when the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a nearby ditch. The investigation showed that Egner ran off the right shoulder of the road striking a mailbox at 4509 Benton Road and then became air born by ramping over a Private Drive and then striking the guard rail. Mercy Regional Ambulance Service later transported Egner to a local hospital where she was treated for possible injuries to her back.

    First Responders with Reidland Farley Fire Dept and Mercy Ambulance Service told deputies at the scene that they could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage come from Egner's person. At the hospital Deputies confirmed that Egner had been drinking alcoholic beverages prior to the collision. Egner was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense and remained at the hospital due to her injuries.

   The Sheriff's Department was assisted by Reidland Farley Fire Department and Speedy's Towing Service to help clean up the collision
