A K-9 drug sweep at St. Mary's High School (Paducah) resulted in two students being charged with Possession of Less Than 8 oz. of Marijuana. K-9 teams from Mayfield Police, Graves Co. Sheriff, Paducah Police and McCracken Co. Sheriff arrived at the school at 09:30 this date at the request of Principal Tony Burkeen. Burkeen had made the request as part of an effort to provide a safe and secure campus for students and faculty. Teams searched the interior of the school as well as the parking lot. Small amounts of marijuana were located in two vehicles driven to school by students. No drugs were located inside the school. The McCracken Co. Sheriff's Department charged the following individuals: A sixteen year old student was cited for Possession Less Than 8 oz. of Marijuana and released to a parent.
Justin T. Boyett, age 18 of Paducah, was arrested and charged with Possession Less Than 8 oz. of Marijuana . He was lodged in the McCracken Regional Jail.
Both students face internal disciplinary action as well as criminal charges. |
