Suspect Charged in Eight Area Burglaries
On the morning of 03/16/10, three burglaries were reported in the western part of McCracken County. Two of the burglaries were in the 700 block of Lovelaceville Florence Station rd. West and the other in the 2100 block of Mayfield Metropolis rd. Forced entry was gained in all three burglaries and jewelry was taken.
Detectives obtained information from a citizen, describing a white Chevrolet short bed pickup truck, with loud exhaust, driving back and forth, in the area of Mayfield Metropolis rd. at the time of the burglaries.
Upon conducting a follow up on another burglary, that occurred on Harris rd, (03/09/10) detectives discovered that one of the individuals roofing the residence, Jeramie Heady, owned a white Chevrolet pickup. Heady was suspected of entering the residence and stealing a diamond engagement ring.
Detectives then contacted several businesses that purchase scrap gold and discovered that Heady frequently sold jewelry to some of the businesses. It was also discovered that several pieces of jewelry taken from Lovelaceville Florence Station rd. West and Mayfield Metropolis rd, had been sold by Heady and was later recovered. The diamond engagement ring that was taken from Harris rd. was also recovered.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that Heady was responsible for four other McCracken County Burglaries. Two more of the burglaries also occurred on Harris rd.(03/15/10) The other two occurred in the 5400 block of Noble rd.(03/08/09) and the 300 block of Orchard View.(03/08/10)
All the listed burglaries were gained by force, except the Orchard View residence.
The burglary on Orchard View occurred while the resident was home. The victim reported that she observed an unknown white male, knocking loudly on her front door. According to the victim, a short time later, she heard the individual in her utility room, yelling someone's name. When the victim confronted the individual, he advised that he was looking for someone else, at which time, the victim told him to leave. The individual left after being told. It was determined that Heady was the individual who entered the residence and intended on stealing jewelry.
Heady was lodged in the McCracken Regional Jail.
