The
McCracken County Sheriff's Dept. received information that Richard
Tapp Jr. and Anna Nicole Thompson, both of Paducah, were
believed to have Arrest Warrants and were hiding at a
residence on Carson Way in Reidland. Further that they had just
arrived driving a Red Ford Crown Victoria. Deputies arrived at the
residence and located the described vehicle hidden in the back
yard. Deputies knocked at the doors and identified themselves
for several minutes. Although deputies could hear persons
moving about inside the residence, the occupants refused to
acknowledge or answer the door. After establishing the
belief Mr. Tapp and Ms. Thompson were in the residence,
Deputies entered and located three adults and a small child
hiding in various rooms. Mr. Tapp and Ms. Thompson were
arrested without further incident. The additional adult and child
were Mr. Tapp's wife and son. At the time of Mr. Tapp's arrest it
was discovered he had been monitoring Deputy's radio transmissions
with hand held radios capable of both transmitting and receiving
on Sheriff Dept. and other Emergency Services channels. Mr. Tapp and
Ms. Thompson were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
