On March 19, 2010 at approximately 9:24 P.M., McCracken County Sheriff Deputies responded to an accident with injuries at the intersection of US Highway 60 and Olivet Church Road.  Upon arriving, a vehicle driven by Carol Clay, of Alabama, was resting in the ditch to the North of US Highway 60.  A pickup truck driven by Steven Orenduff, of Burna, Kentucky, was stopped in the intersection.  Mr. Orenduff stated that the light at the intersection of US 60 and Olivet Church Road had just changed to green and he began to proceed West when he was struck from behind by Ms. Clay.  Ms. Clay stated that she was traveling West and approaching the intersection, when she noticed that the brake lights on Mr. Orenduff's truck were illuminated. She stated that she misjudged the distance between the two vehicles and was unable to stop before striking the pickup truck.  She then proceeded off the North shoulder of the road and came to rest in a ditch.  Ms. Clay was transported by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service to Lourdes Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Traffic on US Highway 60 and Olivet Church Road was slowed for approximately forty minutes.  The Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Concord Fire Department and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.
