Paducah man charged with DUI after single vehicle collision

At 03:38 hours, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to a single vehicle collision at 4345 Clinton Road. The investigation showed that 29 year old Michael B Jones of Paducah, was South on Clinton Road when his vehicle ran off the right shoulder striking a Bellsouth Fiber Optic Cable Box. The 2007 Toyota Corolla then struck a concrete culvert, ramped the driveway to 4345 Clinton Road and hitting their mailbox. The vehicle then came to rest in a ditch just South of the driveway. Mr. Jones was not injured in the collision.

Upon further investigation Mr. Jones did admit to have been drinking and had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He did admit that to having too much to drink and knew he should not have been driving. Mr. Jones was then arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st offense.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 20 minutes while the car was being towed out of the ditch.

The Sheriff's Dept was assisted at the scene BA's Towing to clean up the collision scene.
