Two Arrested For Drug Trafficking

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division has arrested two men on drug trafficking charges following a drug investigation today in McCracken County. 
 
On 04/12/2010 detectives with McCracken and Marshall County Sheriff's Departments conducted an undercover investigation utilizing an undercover agent on the parking lot of Southern Pride Truck Stop located at 7050 Benton Road in McCracken County. Detectives observed a 2000 Cadillac Eldorado arrive on the parking lot at approximately 3:00 pm occupied by two men. Sheriff's Detectives observed the two men the Cadillac conducting a hand to hand transaction through the window of the Cadillac. Deputy Derick Pugh conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it left the area in the 1200 block of Old Rosebower Church Road at approximately 3:08 pm. Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as Anthony Wells 21, of Murray Kentucky. The passenger was identified as Jose Hernandez Jr 28, of Dixon Tennessee. Detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered digital scales and a small amount of marijuana.   A search of the two men revealed money believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
 
The investigation revealed that the two men had just sold ten doses of Lortab and a quantity of Marijuana on the parking lot of Southern Pride. Additionally detectives learned that the two men had sold marijuana to other individuals earlier in the day.   Both men were arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
 
 
 
Arrested: Anthony D. Wells 21, of Murray Kentucky
 
Charges: Trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces and trafficking in 2nd degree controlled substance-Lortab
 
Arrested: Jose Hernandez Jr. 28, of Dixon Tennessee
 
Charges: Complicity to trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces and complicity to trafficking in 2nd degree controlled substance-Lortab
 
Additional arrests are likely in this case in the near future
