Several Arrested and Charged with Heath School Burglary

Burglaries were reported to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department on Saturday morning April 10th that occurred at both the Heath High and Middle Schools.

Sheriff's deputies while investigating the scene, discovered that the suspects had originally entered the schools cafeteria by throwing a concrete block through a window. Once in that area of the school, stolen were two (2) laptop computers, cash, and keys.

Suspects then forced open a door in the ag shop and ransacked an office there. The middle school office was then entered where over the counter medications were taken and cash. Once in the library area of the school, suspects took four (4) Ipods. Cash was also taken from the band room.

Theft and damages from the schools exceed $5200.00 dollars.

The scene was processed by sheriff's detectives that were assigned to the investigation.

To date, two juveniles have been arrested and lodged at the Regional Detention Center, one juvenile is still being sought, and two adults have been charged and lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Detectives have also recovered the two laptop computers that were stolen. They were recovered from a field off of Strathmore Blvd on April 15.

Details of those charged:

Arrested on April 15: 17 year old juvenile from McCracken County. Charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. Lodged at Detention Cntr.

Arrested on April 21: 16 year old juvenile from McCracken County. Charged with Burglary 3rd Degree (3) Counts, Theft over $500, and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree Over $1,000. Lodged at Detention Cntr.

Arrested on April 26: Davis, Jesse R. 19 yoa of West Paducah, Ky Charges: Burglary 3rd Degree. Lodged at McCracken Regional Jail.

Arrested on April 26: Church, Cody A. 19 yoa of Paducah. Charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, also has pending charges relating to the theft of moped last summer from Saxony Mobile Home Park in McCracken County. Lodged at the McCracken Regional Jail.

Being sought in connection with the Burglary: 15 year old juvenile on charges of Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft Over $500.

Detectives learned through the investigation, that all six (6) suspects drove to the school together in one vehicle, parked at a vacant residence, walked across a field to the school at about 3:00AM on April 10th. Five of the six suspects have confessed to sheriff's detectives as to their involvement in this case.

Detectives Robert Caskey, Det. Sgt. Devin Brewer, and Det. Greg Moyers conducted the follow-up investigation and made these arrests.
