Update: Paducah Man Faces Additional Gun Charge

McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives have charged a Paducah Man in connection with a stolen handgun.
 
On 04-22-2010 detectives arrested a Zachary E. Cavitt 22, of Sanders Avenue in Paducah after he sold a .45 caliber semi automatic handgun with a defaced serial number and a quantity of marijuana to a confidential informant working for the Sheriff's Department. Cavitt was lodged in the McCracken County Jail and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance within 1000 yards of school and possession of a defaced firearm.
 
On 04-23-2010 Paducah Police Officer Dana Dobson took a report from an individual who resides in the 2400 block of Lakewood Drive in Paducah. The victim stated that sometime between 04-17-2010 and 04-20-2010 someone had stolen a .45 caliber handgun from their residence. 
 
Detectives verified that this was same handgun purchased from Cavitt on 04-22-2010. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Cavitt for one felony count of receiving stolen property-firearm and served him with it in the McCracken County Jail.
