Paducah Couple Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept Drug Division have arrested a Paducah couple in connection with trafficking in a controlled substance following an indictment by a McCracken County Grand Jury.

 

During the month of February detectives conducted an investigation involving Robert Middleton and Marquita Askew.  During the investigation, both subjects acted together and sold a quantity of a controlled substance in McCracken County.  The case was presented to the McCracken County Grand Jury during the month of April and indictment warrants were issued for both individuals.

 

On June 1, 2010 at approx. 10:00 A.M. detectives located both Middleton and Askew at their residence in McCracken County.  Both Middleton and Askew were taken into custody without incident.  A search of their home produced a quantity of marijuana.  Furthermore, a vehicle seizure warrant was executed and the couple's vehicle was seized in connection with trafficking in controlled substances.  Askew and Middleton were also both served with Criminal Summons' for the charge of Persistent Felony Offender in connection with prior felony convictions.  

 

Askew and Middleton were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

Arrested: Robert Middleton, 37, of Farley Place in Paducah KY.

 

Charges:  One count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (A Class "C" Felony, punishable with 5 to 10 years in Prison and Possession of Marijuana (A Class "A" Misdemeanor, punishable with up to 12 months in jail.)

 

Arrested: Marquita Askew, 26, of Farley Place in Paducah KY.

 

Charges:  One count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (A Class "C" Felony, punishable with 5 to 10 years in Prison
