Single vehicle injury accident on I-24

 At 9:09 AM Deputies were dispatched to I-24 for a single vehicle injury accident.  The accident occurred at the Oaks road overpass near the 12 mile marker in the west bound lane.

   The investigation shows that 48 year old Donald J Weaver of Benton, KY was west bound on I-24.  As he approached the overpass at Oaks road, the left rear tire on his 1989 Dodge pick up truck separated. ( The tread separated from the tire.)

   When this happened he lost control of the pick up and struck the bridge rail.  The pick up slid along the railing to the end of the bridge where it came to rest in the median.

   Weaver had some injury to his face. He was treated on scene by Reidland Farley Fire Department. He was transported to Lourdes E.R. by Mercy Regional ambulance for treatment.
