Saturday night roll-over accident investigated |

Saturday night (June 19, 2010) at approximately 11:48PM, Sheriff's
Sgt. J.T. Coleman drove up on a one-vehicle accident located at the
westbound ramp onto Clarks River Road coming from off of the
Tennessee River bridge. Sgt. Coleman found a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer
upside down just off the roadway that was occupied by 4 people. The
accident had just occurred. Sgt. Coleman assisted three of the
passengers from the vehicle. The driver was extricated by members of
the Reidland Fire Department. All occupants were transported to area
hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries by Mercy
Regional Ambulance Service. The vehicle was being driven by 17 year old Cassandra N. Omalley of West Paducah, Ky. The three passengers in the vehicle were identified as being Andrew A. Owen 17 years of age of West Paducah, Katelyn Weaver 17 years of age of Paducah, Ky and 20 year old Latisha Figley of Paducah. The investigation into the accident revealed that the driver failed to negotiate the curve, left the roadway and struck a concrete drainage curb causing the vehicle to become airborne, and flip over onto its top. |
