DUI Arrest leads to Theft of Identity Case

Date:

A routine DUI Arrest last week has led to additional charges against the man whom used his brothers name.

On June 14, 2010 at about 8:30PM, Dep. Cory Gohlightly stopped a vehicle on Wayne Sullivan Drive after almost being hit by the vehicle. The driver was later arrested after failing several field sobriety tests. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence, and having an open container of alcohol. The following day, the driver entered  guilty pleas in McCracken District Court.

On the evening of June 16, 2010 sheriff's deputies received notification from the Kentucky State Police Fingerprint section that the man whom was arrested for the DUI charge was wanted by the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole on a warrant for violating his probation.

Immediately following this man's arrest on the evening of June 14, he was fingerprinted and his prints were submitted. This is routine in all arrests. Once those prints went through the system, it indicated that those prints belonged to 29 year old Keenan K. Boyd of McCracken County and that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant from the State Probation and Parole Office.

Deputy Golightly immediately obtained a photograph of Boyd and compared it to that of the man he arrested. They did not match. Further investigation revealed that Boyd had used his brothers name and other vital information the night he was arrested. He did in fact plead guilty the next day in District Court under his brothers name.

Arrest warrants have been taken for Keenan Boyd Theft of Identity, DUI, Driving on a DUI Suspended License, Possession of an Open Container, and Reckless Driving. He is also wanted on the Probation Violation Warrant from the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole. Efforts to clear his brothers record are underway.

Boyd is a b/m 29 years of age, approx 5'8in, 185 lbs, short black hair, brown eyes, gotee, and usually wears glasses. (Photo Attached). Boyd's criminal record includes charges of Trafficking in Cocaine out of Graves County.
