Theft from vehicles

The Sheriff's department is investigating a rash of vehicle break-ins that occurred overnight. On McCaw Road one vehicle was entered by smashing a side glass to gain entry. Several items were taken from the car. Also on McCaw Road a garage was entered where the vehicles parked inside were also gone through. It did not appear anything was taken there. Another vehicle was broken into on Shawn lane and yet another on Massac Church Road. Again, entry was gained by smashing a window. Several electronic items were taken. The thefts and burglary all took place between midnight and 5:00 am. The Sheriff's Department urges all County residents to please not leave valuable items in their vehicles. It becomes a very tempting target for thieves when a window can be smashed and those items taken in a matter of seconds. Anyone with information about suspects can call Crimestoppers at 443-TELL (8355). The caller will remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
