Semi overturn on Blandville road

At approximately 9:15 AM Deputies responded to a single vehicle fatal collision on Blandville road at the McCracken Blvd intersection.

Our investigation revealed that a semi tractor trailer hauling logs had been west bound on Blandville road.

  The Semi was owned by Timber Transporting Inc. out of Burna, KY.  It had been operated by 62 year old Richard Rittenberry of Burna, KY.  Mr. Rittenberry passed away at the wreck site.

For unknown reasons according to numerous witnesses, the semi dropped off the right shoulder of the road. The operator was unable to get the semi on the road before overturning.

Blandville road was closed for approximately 4 hours while the semi was up righted.

The Sheriff's Dept was assisted by Paducah Police Dept, Paducah Fire Dept, Concord Fire Dept, McCracken County Coroners office, Mercy Regional ambulance service, and the McCracken County Rescue Squad .
