Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept Drug and General Investigation Divisions have arrested a Paducah man in connection with marijuana trafficking and receiving stolen property following a search warrant and an indictment by a McCracken County Grand Jury.
On June 18, 2010 a search warrant was obtained and executed at 3275 Cairo Rd. Jary W. Dawson was located inside the residence along with other occupants. During a search of the residence, two flat screen TV's were located. (26" Samsung Plasma Flat Screen TV and a 42" Vizio Plasma Flat Screen TV) Det. Tim Reed identified the TV's as being stolen during a residential burglary on 05-18-2010 that occurred in West Paducah. The televisions were valued at a total of $1500. Det. Reed's investigation revealed that the TV's were purchased by Dawson from Vernon Matt Bradley on the same date as the burglary for $300. (Bradley has already been charged in connection with this case)
A further search of the property resulted in detectives recovering in excess of ten ounces of compressed marijuana located hidden inside a storage cabinet in a garage on the property. Detectives also located and seized a firearm from the same garage.
Case details were presented to a McCracken County Grand Jury during the month of July and an indictment warrant was issued for Dawson. On 07/28/2010 at approximately 2:00 P.M., Dawson, accompanied by his attorney, Jeremy Ian Smith, surrendered himself to detectives at the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.
