Sunday morning at 11:28AM, sheriffs
deputies received a call from a resident near the Freemont area of
McCracken County reporting that their 12 year old son had stolen
their Ford Escort Station wagon.
At 12:37PM, Deputy Colleen Pennebaker
got behind the stolen vehicle near Geibe Road and Husbands Road.
The twelve year old juvenile was driving the vehicle. After Dep.
Pennebaker activated lights and siren, the juvenile sped up while
on Husbands Road and onto John Puryear Drive reaching speeds up to
85 mph. Deputies then discontinued the pursuit. Deputies shortly
thereafter found the vehicle on Hovecamp Road and were able to
block the vehicle in and place the juvenile into custody. The
juvenile was lodged at the juvenile detention center and charged
with numerous offenses.
