Mr. Artie Scott's 81 year old mother ( Anna ) has been a resident of the Paducah Center for Rehabilitation here in Paducah since November of 2008. Mr. Scott was her Power of Attorney before he was removed as such and Public Guardian, Ken Anderson took over. Mr. Scott was notified that the bill for his mothers stay at the Paducah Center has not been paid. In a taped interview Artie Scott admitted that he used his mothers money to make numerous purchases from Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Best Buy, Circuit City etc. on items for himself instead of making arrangements to provide a place for his mother to stay. After talking with Ken Anderson and the Paducah Center, She was in danger of having to leave the Center. Mr. Scott was charged with Knowingly Exploiting an Adult By Person over $300 and lodged in the McCracken County Jail. That charge is a C Felony and is punishable by 5 to 10 years. |
