A joint
investigation by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and the
Marshall County Sheriff's Department lead to four
methamphetamine arrests late Tuesday afternoon.
On
07-15-2010 detectives with the McCracken County County
Sheriff's Department Drug Division responded to 5510 Husbands
Road in McCracken County in reference to complaint of
Methamphetamine Manufacturing. Detectives conducted a search of the
residence. During the interior search of the residence detectives
located numerous syringes, digital scales with meth residue,
liquid fire, tubing and baggy corners that contained meth
residue. Detectives conducted a search of the exterior the
residence and located numerous items that had been
discarded from a recent meth cook. Three individuals were
arrested in connection with the items located at the Husbands Road
residence.
Through
their investigation detectives determined that Jeffery L. Renz had
been responsible for cooking the meth at the residence. Detectives
obtained an arrest warrant for Renz on the following day. Renz was
on felony probation at the time this offense occurred from a
McCracken County Methamphetamine Manufacturing Conviction.
On
08-03-2010 detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department
and the Marshall County Sheriff's Department received information
that Renz might possibly be staying at 365 Meacham Lane Lot #76 in
Paducah (The Brian Cooper residence). Detectives searched the
residence at approximately 1:50 in the afternoon. Renz was not
located inside the trailer, however detectives located a quantity of
Methamphetamine and Marijuana along with several items illegal
drug paraphernalia. A subsequent investigation by detectives
revealed that the items located in the residence belonged
to Brian Cooper and that Cooper had also been purchasing Sudafed
for Methamphetamine cooks. Cooper was arrested. Detectives
cited another man present at the residence for marijuana possession.
Later in
the afternoon detectives continued their search for Renz. At
approximately 5:21 pm detectives located Renz and several other
individuals at 5024 Meredith Road in McCracken County. Renz was
arrested. A search of a duffel bag belonging to Renz
revealed 40 doses of Sudafed and liquid Coleman Fuel.
Detectives located an additional box of Sudafed in a
purse belonging to Tiffany Campbell, who was present at the
residence. Detectives searched the residence and located a
quantity of marijuana, a meth smoking pipe and several additional items
of drug paraphernalia. A subsequent investigation
following the home search on Meredith Road revealed that Campbell had
purchased the Sudafed found in her purse for Renz and that Renz had
intended to cook meth later this evening had he not been
apprehended. Detectives also learned that Paul Evitts, a
resident of Meredith Road, had driven Campbell to purchase the
Sudafed and used meth at the residence recently.
