Accident On Metropolis Lake Road

On August 9, 2010 at approximately 1437 an injury accident occurred on Metropolis Lake Road/KY.996. A 1990 Pontiac 6000 driven by Gregory A. Rice 18 of Paducah was traveling south on Metropolis Lake Road when he rear ended a 2007 Ford F-150 driven by Alex C. Alexander 16 of West Paducah. Mr. Alexander was stopped in traffic from Heath High School letting out. Mr. Alexander had just starting moving again when Mr. Rice struck him from behind. Mr. Rice did not realize traffic was stopped until it was too late to avoid the accident. Mr. Rice and Mr. Alexander are students at Heath High School. Mr. Rice was transported to Lourdes for treatment of minor injuries. The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Mercy Regional and West McCracken Fire.
