Two McCracken Men Arrested For Elder Abuse Of Same Victim

Mr. Charles E. Dunbar of Paducah was arrested today for being the Power of Attorney for Viola Hunt and admitted using her money for personal use.  Dunbar states that he visited the victim and used her money for  gas and even stayed in a hotel at her expense.  Dunbar was also giving money to the victim's Grandson who also used victims money.

     Mr. Joshua J. Hunt of Paducah is the Grandson of the victim.  He was appointed the Power of Attorney after Dunbar.  Hunt also used his grandmothers money to pay his utility bills and help his girlfriend make her car payments.  

   81 year old Viola Hunt has been a resident of the Medco Nursing Home here in Paducah since February 2010 and was in danger of being removed for lack of payment.  Mr. Hunt was her Power of Attorney before he was removed as such and Public Guardian, Ken Anderson took over. 

     Mr. Dunbar and Mr. Hunt were both charged with Knowingly Exploiting an Adult By Person over $300 and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.  That charge is a C Felony and is punishable by 5 to 10 years.  A bond has not been set for either of them at this time.
