At 15:20 hours the McCracken County Sheriff's Dept responded to the I-24 bridge at the Kentucky Illinois state line for a 2 vehicle injury collision. The investigation showed that 38 yoa John Mc Neely of Metropolis IL was east on the bridge, in the fast lane, in a 2001 Chevy Impala when a pickup truck came into contact with the front passenger side on the Impala. The 2009 Ford F-150 pick up was operated by 58 yoa John Gresham of Mayfield, KY. After the vehicles collided both then struck the concrete divider before coming to rest and blocking both east lanes of traffic. Mr. Gresham and his wife 56 yoa Helen Gresham were both transported by Mercy Regional Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Mr. Mc Neely and his three passengers, wife 42 yoa Melinda Mc Neely, son 15 yoa Kyle Mc Neely and grand daughter 1 yoa Alexis Cornwell did not appear to be injured, but Alexis was transported by Mercy Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation of any possible injuries. The traffic on I-24 was stopped for approximately 1 hour so the collision could be investigated and vehicles could be removed. The Sheriff's Dept was assisted by Concord Fire Dept and Metropolis Police Dept while the collision was removed from the roadway.
