Paducah Men Face Drug Offenses | ||||

The McCracken
County Sheriff's Department Drug Division has arrested three Paducah
Men on various drug offenses over the past two days.
On
09-01-2010 at approximately 6:16 pm detectives with the drug
division observed the operator of a 1994 Dodge Intrepid driving
carelessly on Benton Road. The vehicle then pulled over to the
shoulder of the roadway in the 4600 block of Benton Road in
McCracken County. Detectives stopped and spoke to the two men in the
vehicle. The driver was identified as 28 year old Vincent
McNeal. Detectives identified the front seat passenger as 32 year
old Joshua Luten. While speaking to the two men, a detective
observed Luten attempt to hide something in vehicle. Both men were
asked to exit the vehicle. Detectives searched Luten and located a
plastic baggy missing corners in his pants pocket along with
several hundred dollars in US currency. Detectives searched McNeal
and located two plastic baggies containing crack cocaine valued at
$400 and several hundred dollars in US currency believed to be
proceeds of drug sells.
Deputy
Steve Croft and his K-9 "Pepo" arrived on scene a short
time later and assisted in the vehicle search. K-9 "Pepo"
alerted to a narcotic odor coming from the passenger side
of the vehicle. K-9 Pepo then alerted on a black bag that was
located under the edge of the passenger seat that contained two
baggies of marijuana packaged for sale, digital scales and plastic
baggies. Both men were arrested and transported to the
McCracken County Sheriff's Department.
A
subsequent investigation revealed that McNeal and Luten were both on
federal probation for drug offenses. McNeal had just been released
prison in May of 2010 and had started selling cocaine to 20-30
different individuals approximately 1-2 months ago. Both men were
unemployed at the time of their arrests.
Arrested:
Vincent A. McNeal 28, of Harrison Street in Paducah
Charges: Careless driving , Trafficking in a 1st degree controlled substance 2nd offense-Cocaine (A class "B" felony punishable by 10-20 years in prison) and possession of drug paraphernalia
Arrested:
Josh D. Luten 32, of Levin Avenue in Paducah
Charges: Possession of marijuana and possession
of drug paraphernalia
In a separate investigation on 09-02-2010
detectives learned that Eddie "Jenitto" Norris had been
attempting to purchase crack cocaine from another arrested drug
offender on numerous occasions. A confidential witness contacted
Norris by phone. Norris again stated that he was looking to purchase
a quantity of crack cocaine. Norris met with the confidential
witness on 09-02-2010 at approximately 4:47 pm on North 11th
Street near the intersection of Burnett Street. Norris then purchased
a quantity of cocaine from the confidential witness. Detectives
conducted a search of Norris's residence located in the 1000 block
of Burnett Street. A search of the residence revealed an additional
quantity of cocaine and assorted drug paraphernalia. Norris was lodged
at the McCracken County Jail.

Charges: Possession of a 1st degree
controlled substance- cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia
