| At approximately 1513 hours the McCracken County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to an injury accident at the intersection of Kentucky Dam Road and US 68. Beverly Brooks, 66, of Paducah, KY was stopped at the red light at the above intersection in her 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser when she was struck from behind. Lois Kampsen, 87, of Calvert City, KY was east bound in a 2008 Buick Lucerne on Kentucky Dam Road when she looked away from the roadway to check her husbands medical status. Mrs. Kampsen had just picked up her husband/passenger, Virgil Kampsen, 92, from the hospital and was heading home. Mrs. Kampsen looked up and observed that Mrs. Brooks was stopped in traffic and attempted to stop but could not. Mrs. Kampsen rear ended Mrs. Brooks at the intersection pushing both vehicles through. East bound lanes were blocked for approximately 45 minutes. Reidland Farley Fire Department assisted on scene along with Sullivan's who was towing for Jason's Collision Center. Mercy Regional transported Mrs. Brooks to Western Baptist and Mr. and Mrs. Kampsen to Lourdes for minor injuries. | |||||
