October 20, 2010

On 10/11/10, Mary Cochrum reported a burglary to her residence, located on Said Road in McCracken County.

Cochrum reported a flat screen television and WII game console had been taken from the home.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Jerry M. Staten Jr., 22, the boyfriend of the victim's daughter, entered the home of Cochrum without permission, pawned the stolen WII game console and gave the television to a friend.

The investigation also showed that Staten dropped his girlfriend off at work and kept her vehicle and keys, which had the key to Cochrum's home.

On 10/13/10, Cledus Libby, the property manager of apartments located on Benton Road, reported that someone entered a building on the property and stole a miter-saw.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Courtney Cochrum (Now Staten), 21, sold the miter-saw to a local pawn shop.  It was also determined that Jerry Staten Jr., who possessed a key without the owner's knowledge, entered the building without permission and stole the miter-saw.

Both suspects were charged and jailed at McCracken Regional Jail on this date. Photos attached.
