On January 4, 2012, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division completed a nearly month long invesitgation into marijuana trafficking in the West Paducah area of McCracken County. The Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police, and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.

During the past month, detectives conducted an investigation regarding Jerry Gray Jr. trafficking marijuana in the Paducah, McCracken County Area. As part of the investigation, detectives made numerous marijuana purchases from Gray Jr.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Gray Jr. was keeping his marijuana at a "stash house" located on Cunningham Road in West Paducah.  "It's common for repeat drug offenders to take alternative measures to conceal their contraband at another location, commonly referred to as a 'stash house', believing it will prevent being charged with more serious offenses".

On January 4, 2012, detectives arrested Gray Jr on the parking lot of a local business located at 5021 HInkleville Road around 6:30 pm. Detectives then executed two search warrants simultaneously at 7700 Ogden Landing Road and 5865 Cunningham Road, both in West Paducah, KY.

Detectives seized over two pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, digital scales and other assorted items of drug paraphernalia from the two houses along with several hundreds dollars of US currency that is believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
