Subject:

Reckless Driving Leads To Drug Arrest

Date:

January 18th, 2012

On January 18, 2012 at approximately 5:35 P.M., a detective with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department observed a passenger car, later learned to be driven by Chase Beyer, driving at a high rate of speed on Ogden Landing Road. The vehicle passed the detective and several other vehicles as it continued West.

The detective followed the vehicle and caught up to it at a residence on New Liberty Church Road. As the detective pulled into the driveway, with emergency equipment activated, Beyer looked at the vehicle and ran towards the house. Beyer ran inside the residence and was taken into custody after he attempted to hide in a laundry room. A search of Beyer revealed a quantity of Percocet doses, for which he does not have a prescription. Beyer also attempted to pull away from the detective, after he was taken into custody, in an apparent attempt to leave the residence.

As the investigation ensued, it was discovered that Beyer had concealed a quantity of marijuana in the laundry room in an apparent attempt to conceal it from law enforcement.

Beyer was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail for several charges.
