The McCracken County Sheriff's Department arrested a Paducah man Tuesday evening charging him with multiple gun and drug offenses.
On 01-23-2012, McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies Steve Croft and Cory Golightly received a complaint alleging that illegal drug activity was occurring at 650 College Avenue Apartment B 31 in McCracken County. Deputies Croft and Golightly went to the apartment at approximate 7:27pm, where they located 23 year old Jerelle Hill. While speaking with Hill, deputies noted the odor of burnt marijuana. During a search of Hill deputies located a small amount of cocaine on his person. A subsequent investigation by detectives led to the search of the apartment. During the search, deputies located and seized two loaded semi automatic handguns (one .40 caliber handgun and one .45 caliber handgun), six plastic bags of Crack Cocaine weighing over 107 grams, a bag of marijuana, doses of xanax, two sets of digital scales and several hundred dollars in US currency believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. The majority of the items were concealed on top of the kitchen cabinets in the apartments.
The investigation revealed that Hill, who was out on bond on a pending felony case in McCracken County, had been selling cocaine for the past approximate seven months. Additionally, Hill has a prior conviction for marijuana trafficking out of the state of Virginia.
The Crack Cocaine seized in this case has approximate street value of $10,700. It is suspected that the firearms recovered in this case are possibly stolen.
The investigation is continuing.
