Subject:

Farley Woman Arrested For Lone Oak Jewelry Theft

Date:

January 24th, 2012

On January 23, 2012 a Lone Oak resident reported that several rings were missing from her home. An investigation at the victims residence on South Friendship Road revealed that no forced entry had been made into the home. Detectives began taking a closer look at everyone that had access to the residence and among those identified the victims cleaning lady as Lori J. Hall of Farley. Hall, a relative of the victim, had been cleaning the home for several weeks. Late Monday afternoon detectives discovered that Hall had been selling several rings to a local jewelry store that also purchases gold. A further investigation revealed that the rings sold to Carroll Custom Jewelry were the rings that had been stolen from the victim. Unfortunately, to much of a time lapse had already occurred and the rings had already been melted down.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, detectives located Hall at her residence, 1523 Husbands Road Lot A, and confronted her with the facts surrounding the investigation. Hall admitted to stealing and selling the rings and was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

It's very disheartening to solve theft cases where victims want more than anything to regain their jewelry that is irreplaceable only to discover that is no longer possible. We hope and believe the new ordinance that will go into effect March 31 of this year will significantly increase the chances of victims from thefts to reunite with stolen property.

ARRESTED:

Hall, Lori J.    49 years of age

Of Husband Road

CHARGES:

Receiving Stolen Property O/500

Hall's bond was set at 2500.00 for a Class D Felony which is punishable up to 5 years in prison.
