4 Arrested After Search Warrant Served

Date:

February 8th, 2013

On February 7, 2013, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department Drug Division received two separate complaints alleging that residents of 761 North 34 Street Paducah, KY were engaged in illegal drug activity, specifically using and selling methamphetamine.

Detectives began an investigation and quickly obtained a search warrant for the residence. At approximately noon on February 8, 2013, detectives served the search warrant and detained five adults that were at the residence.

As detectives served the warrant, it appeared that two males, Roy Shavez and Michael Burgess had been smoking marijuana. During a further search of the residence and outside area, detectives located methamphetamine, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, marijuana, money believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, and evidence that supports the allegation that Shavez had been selling crystal methamphetamine.

Shavez and Burgess were arrested and transported to the McCracken County Jail for drug charges. Another male, Daniel Simmons, was arrested on an outstanding Calloway County arrest warrant for Harassing Communications and lodged in the McCracken County Jail. Nineteen year old John Brill was cited to court for possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and K9 Fox of the Paducah Police Department.
